New Sensations
Les Beiges Eau de Teint
The latest addition to Chanel’s iconic Les Beiges collection, an edit of makeup in nude hues and skin-like finishes, Eau de Teint has managed to create a whole new category of base product and we’re obsessed. A sheer, light as air tint (it’s composed of 75% water), it imparts a subtle bronze and glow for a chic, no-makeup makeup effect.
Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules
Elizabeth Arden’s capsules have been mainstays in our beauty collections for years, so we were thrilled when they introduced a new iteration into the range. These potent capsules of hero ingredients vitamin C and ceramides make for the perfect power duo: vitamin C helps brighten skin and nix pigmentation, and ceramides (which play a vital role in skin barrier function) keep skin healthy and moisturised.
Renew Nourishing BB Cream
Gone are the days of discretely borrowing your girlfriend’s products: makeup designed for men is flourishing right now. This BB Cream was created specifically for men’s needs – male skin tends to be thicker, and it also works well with facial hair. It gives a natural dose of coverage for an imperceivably perfected finish.
Polyglutamic Acid Serum
The Inkey List have been shaking up the skincare space in 2019, offering a raft of sophisticated products at very attractive price points. One that particularly captured our attention? The Polyglutamic Acid Serum – whereas hyaluronic acid famously holds 1000 times it weight in water, polyglutamic acid can hold four times that again (pretty impressive when you do the math). Great on its own, or you can layer with hyaluronic acid for the ultimate dehydration-fighting duo.
Phat Glow Facial Mask
While we’ll always love our AHAs and BHAs, 2019 was all about the rise of the PHA (short for polyhydroxy acids) – they still give great glow, but are gentler thanks to their larger molecular structure, making them perfect for sensitive skins. This mask harnesses PHAs to slough off lacklustre skin and fight pigmentation – it’s a fab option if you’ve been too nervous to try acid exfoliants before.
Glide Professional Hot Brush
Good hair everyday just got a lot simpler. This clever brush slash straightener hybrid means getting your strands sorted is a lot easier – the brush makes using on hair that bit more comfortable, and polishes and detangles hair in one go. You can use it on freshly-washed locks for a natural, chic French girl finish, or to tame frizz and flyaways the second day after styling.
Microneedle Derma Roller 0.30mm
Microneedling, a favoured method of skincare obsessives globally, has been a beauty buzzword in 2019 – and you can now reap the benefits of the method safely and effectively in your very own bathroom, thanks to this kit. It boosts elastin and collagen production (yes please), works wonders on old acne scars and pigmentation, and helps your other products absorb better, so you can get more bang for your beauty buck.
Double Pommade Concrète
This very chic French brand has been creating beauty lotions and potions for some 200 years, but has only recently hit Australian shores and we’re in love. A standout is their new multi-purpose balm, rich in shea butter and plant oils to nourish dry patches – but we particularly love that it’s anti-bacterial, making it ideal as a hand cream and hand sanitiser in one.
100% Squalane Oil
Biossance has already achieved a fervent following of beauty obsessives in its short existence so far and little wonder – it was conceived by some of the most influential people in the industry, who wanted to create a beauty line that was both clean and sustainable. Their Squalane Oil (another of 2019’s most hyped ingredients) comes from 100% natural sources, namely fermented sugarcane, and is super similar in its composition to the skin’s own lipids – so you know your skin will thrive with it.
Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist
This spritz draws on the Korean beauty trend of cloud-like, gentle but effective mists – there’s none of that annoying, straight-in-your-eyes spritzing going on here. Containing 84% watermelon (an amazing antioxidant), as well as skin-quenching hyaluronic acid and rice germ oil, it hydrates and gives that signature K-Beauty glow.
